Course is ok but used to be much better. Has suffered from reduced funding from the council and has been under threat of closure for a while. As a result, to keep money flowing in, they let absolutely anyone on. I was stuck behind a twoball wearing t-shirts, tracksuit bottoms and trainers, hacking their way to each hole (4 shots to get to a par 3 green and 8 to get to one par 4). The course has suffered, fairways have unreplaced divots, bunkers have footprints in (and quite a few stones) and greens are covered in unrepaied pitchmarks. The driving range is closed (presumably to save money) and everyone is being told it will reopen in the next few days, but that's what they were saying a month ago as well. This could be a good course again as it has a nice layout but it needs money spending on it and golfers to respect it.

Course was good for winter time. Only problem with this course is that it gets far too busy and as such your round is very slow.

Still very little sand in the bunkers making them very difficult to play out of.

The greens are looking very good now, the only critisism I would make is the lack of sand in most bunkers which make controlling chips out very difficult. But allround the course looks in very good shape.

This muni is vary challanging and has a few holes that can easily make or break your card. In winter leaves are a huge problem - drainage has been improved and new greens have been put in place. Theres also a great little 9 hole pitch n putt thats great for the kids. Theres a driving range but this is a seperate entity to the club, tokens are about £3.60 each (noticed that the number of balls you get have been reduced though). Theres also a great putting green that has 18 holes. Best holes are the short par four 13th and the par three 16th named hookers horror that has trouble on the left with three steep bunkers. For the price of about £15 well worth a try.
