Plays well despite rain
For a municipal course this plays very well year round and naturally drains well. A bit boggy but normal tees open in the middle of January!(Round played: Jan 2018 - Score: 89 Handicap: 18.1)

Testing at all levels
Interesting course with a wide variety of approaches. Well kept for a council course. Indoor facilities a bit dated.(Round played: Oct 2017 - Score: 89 Handicap: 21.1)

Mid week game of golf, for £17.50, the course was not too busy. The tees are a bit a bit worn in places. The fairways are in good condition, with a good layer of grass. The greens are consistent although some have a lot of pitch marks. The course is around 6200 long, the tee shots look simple but there are bunkers around the tee shot landing area and many holes have trees on the edge of the holes. The bunkers are compacted due to being raked by driving a tractor through. The holes are well shaped and the 10th has a well positioned tree in the middle of the fairway.

Course is ok but used to be much better. Has suffered from reduced funding from the council and has been under threat of closure for a while. As a result, to keep money flowing in, they let absolutely anyone on. I was stuck behind a twoball wearing t-shirts, tracksuit bottoms and trainers, hacking their way to each hole (4 shots to get to a par 3 green and 8 to get to one par 4). The course has suffered, fairways have unreplaced divots, bunkers have footprints in (and quite a few stones) and greens are covered in unrepaied pitchmarks. The driving range is closed (presumably to save money) and everyone is being told it will reopen in the next few days, but that's what they were saying a month ago as well. This could be a good course again as it has a nice layout but it needs money spending on it and golfers to respect it.

hard ground gave a lot of run out on the fairways. good greens condition but the bunkers need more sand. Starting to get very dry in places
