I had a bad experience as a visitor. I had booked a 2-ball tee time via the pro shop for just after 12:00 on the 9th of November. I was really looking forward to it as it was a very nice day but when my friend and I turned up I was told that the club had decided that morning to hold an impromptu competition and that we couldn't play. The staff member at the proshop said that they might be able to squeeze us onto the course sometime after 1pm but that would not have meant a full round before sunset. Also, I imagine the course would have been more than acceptably busy with other people who had been 'bumped'.
This was especially annoying to me as I had made a lot of effort to travel there using public transport.
It seems to me as though the members had said to themselves "nice weather, stuff the visitors".
I won't be going back.

COURSE VERY WET
Greens very average close to poor, fairways ok, surprised course allowed trollies, course layout ok

Convenient north London track with great facilities
Played a one ball end of January on a dry day. Course in good condition considering north London soil albeit no rain for a while may mean it holds the water during showers.
Warm welcome from the pop, shop, good facilities (including a sauna!) and warm-up areas (putting green, net and short game area). Course challenging if unspectacular but pace of play was good and other members polite. Fair even if not excellent value for money and would play again.

Friendly and fun course in North London
Played a practice round by myself on a busy Wednesday. All four balls I caught up to volunteered to let me through and were friendly. Course was in good shape but played quite easy (very open parkland course). Enjoyed my first round at Hendon and will be back.

Typical woodland course
Pretty straight forward course fairly easy and a little boring. Greens very good, bunkers good, t-boxes good, fairways below average.

good challenge
greens mostly heavily sanded but true, fairways in very good condition given the heat course playing short with the hard surface, some very slow players but able to play through
