What the club says: Hazlehead offers three picturesque courses and a footgolf course. Our Premier MacKenzie Championship course is arguably one of the best in the North East, if not in Scotland and was designed by Dr Alistair McKenzie. The Pines golf course has a more open aspect than the MacKenzie course and its beautiful setting is perhaps more suitable for higher handicap players. The 9 Hole Course has wide fairways and a marked absence of rough, making it the perfect starting point for the enthusiastic beginner.

Routing
Good job I had a local to show me round as there were very few signs showing where the next hole was. Apart from that and the wind we had an excellent timeReviewer Rating

Nice to be back
As one gets older, you are less able to exert as much energy as is sometimes needed to play 18 holes of golf and so I was happy that the Pines course was quiet when I arrived to play yesterday at 1.21pm. The fairways and greens were in good condition considering that even here in Aberdeen we had had a lot of sun and very little rain for some time. I was able to play at my pace and was also pleasantly surprised when I caught up with a husband and wife who suggested that I play through as they might hold me up.Reviewer Rating

tees very very poor.the condition of the tees and NO IMPROVEMENT over the past few seasons is very disheartening.the condition of other municipal courses is excellent and makes one wonder why the basics of greenkeeping are neglected onthis course(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 84 Handicap: 13.8)

Good condition
This course which is considered the second course in the area, is well worth playing as it provides a reasonable challenge without being as taxing as the MacKenzie course.Reviewer Rating

Big improvement
This was my first visit for a year and I was impressed with the condition of the course especially the greens. There are quite a few wet patches in the rough especially under trees but that is not surprising considering the amount of rain we have had recently. The new booking arrangements are also working well but there was a suggestion from one player that someone had sneaked on at the second hole perhaps without a booking. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.Reviewer Rating

Great course worth playing
Always enjoy playing this course. It's great value for money if you're a member through Aberdeen City Council. I regularly switch from the Pines (course 2) to Mackenzie (Course 1), although my favourite is the Mackenzie. The only thing that gets me is the drainage at the Mackenzie. It never seems to be dry even with little rain, such a shame.Reviewer Rating
