This course used to be a championship course but has went downhill in recent years and in the winter when it is wet you can forget about playing as the drainage is very poor

tees very very poor.the condition of the tees and NO IMPROVEMENT over the past few seasons is very disheartening.the condition of other municipal courses is excellent and makes one wonder why the basics of greenkeeping are neglected onthis course(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 84 Handicap: 13.8)

Course 1 far too wet to have decent game.No rain for days but balls still plugging on fairways.Although a fair amount of time has been spent on the tees ,greens and bunkers,the whole course needs dug up and a decent drainage system installed.

Scenic course with some great views over city. Some bunkers still under repair but good work and replacement sand on the completed bunkers.

Played this course about 20 times as it's good value for money for the quality, but the fairways are always soaking, even in the summer. 17 of the 20 rounds at best I have come off the course with soaking feet. "arguably the best in the north east" is just a delusion of grandeur as it is miles and miles behind the premier courses and doesn't even make the top 100 list in the north east.
Good value, but don't even think about it if there has been even a little drizzle in the past week.

course has been closed for almost a tear for improvements. No real noticeable improvements altho much work has been done installing drainage so should help going forward, excellent value for money and enjoyable layout.
