Big improvement

This was my first visit for a year and I was impressed with the condition of the course especially the greens. There are quite a few wet patches in the rough especially under trees but that is not surprising considering the amount of rain we have had recently. The new booking arrangements are also working well but there was a suggestion from one player that someone had sneaked on at the second hole perhaps without a booking. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.

Course 1 far too wet to have decent game.No rain for days but balls still plugging on fairways.Although a fair amount of time has been spent on the tees ,greens and bunkers, the whole course needs dug up and a decent drainage system installed.

Scenic course with some great views over city. Some bunkers still under repair but good work and replacement sand on the completed bunkers.
Course still very wet in places and greens a little patchy.

This course used to be a championship course but has went downhill in recent years and in the winter when it is wet you can forget about playing as the drainage is very poor

Too much sand used on the greens. Sand in bunkers packed hard and unraked for quite some time.

The course needs to improve water drainage as it struggles to recover from rain.

Came here as a 20 handicapper thinking I would get handicap down quite easily, not a hope!!, both courses with their own idiosyncratic challenges, and trees put paid to that. Just another of lifes challenges. For municipal courses they are excellent, although the wet winter has not helped the green keepers, it is very obvious there has been a lot of work been done to allievate the drainage problems. If the golfing Gods could assist by ensuring a decent spell of weather, everybody will be happy, and you never know, the handicap may, just may reduce. The club house and the staff add to the enjoyment

Good job I had a local to show me round as there were very few signs showing where the next hole was. Apart from that and the wind we had an excellent time

Nice to be back

As one gets older, you are less able to exert as much energy as is sometimes needed to play 18 holes of golf and so I was happy that the Pines course was quiet when I arrived to play yesterday at 1.21pm. The fairways and greens were in good condition considering that even here in Aberdeen we had had a lot of sun and very little rain for some time. I was able to play at my pace and was also pleasantly surprised when I caught up with a husband and wife who suggested that I play through as they might hold me up.
