What the club says: Golf has been played over the links at Gullane for more than 350 years. Today, Gullane Golf Club is one of Scotland's most prestigious member clubs, mixing the finest tradition with some of the most admired natural links land in the world.
Gullane is blessed with superb turf and a climate that allows all year round golf. Visitors are welcome to play our championship courses which offer dramatic coastal views and a golfing challenge to savour. Laid out over prime seaside land, the three golf courses are simply known by number reflecting their age.
Gullane No. 1 (1884) has a long history of hosting national and international championship golf events, most recently the Local Final Qualifying for the 2013 Open Championship at neighbouring Muirfield.
Gullane No. 2 (1898) was laid out by the legendary Willie Park Jr and has also been used for Open Championship Qualifying as well as the Seniors Open Amateur.
Gullane No. 3 (1910) was also designed by Willie Park Jr. It may be the shortest of the three courses, but it provides a wonderful test based on shot-making skills rather than power.
Gullane offers a unique range of golfing experiences for members and visitors alike, combining a major role in the history of golf in Scotland, great golfing conditions, and a truly spectacular environment. Today, Gullane Golf Club is one of Scotland's most prestigious member clubs mixing the finest tradition with some of the most admired natural links land in the world.

You must come to this venue
You must come to this venue. Three fantastic courses all different in style and challenge. In this part of Scotland a visit here is simply a must. Brilliant facilities, clubhouse, shop and welcome. Free warm up basket of balls. An enjoyable hilly walk with challenging holes. Stay on the fairway and take in the views - gorgeous.Reviewer Rating

Short but very sweel- Same as Gullane 2
The course played like Gullane 2 from 3years ago. Greens were immaculate and speedie compared to the last 2 days. Fairways lovely and rough was whispy but findable. Wind, as with most linksy coursesplayed its part but not to strong Highlite Par 3 15th 176yds downhill. 20ft putt for birdie after a slightly off line 9iron!!Reviewer Rating

premier league true links course
easily one of the best true links courses, up there with troon, turnberry, royal st G, port marnoch etc. particularly good because of the hills, which is uncommon on true links.Reviewer Rating

Great day of Golf
Me and 5 friends came up from London/Kent to play golf in east lothian for the weekLast week we played Gullane 2&3,
Both in fantastic condition especially 2.
The deal to play both on the same day is a no brainer and amazing value.
We only played course 3 last year as it was the open week and had little to no tee times.
Last year it was busy and didn't feel too friendly.
This year it was quieter and we all had a wonderful experience, the two guys Chris and Craig I think their names in the pro shop were soo friendly and welcoming.
They were lovely.
If you want to play here do not hesitate it's a great place and course 2 has some tuff holes.
3 is short but the greens are no joke.
Thanks for a great day out.

lucky to get it on a calm day
Played with a very welcoming member, lunch in the old clubhouse, then away we went, pleasure from beginning to end, strategically bunkered, greens and tees were excellent, had played Number 2 before and was similarly excellent.Reviewer Rating

The courses were in perfect condition with undulating fairways, immaculate greens and bunkers, and beautiful views. The layout was challenging yet enjoyable. It was a great links course and a fantastic experience for all levels of players.

Interesting and hilly
Interesting and hilly suits this venue absolutely. This the 3rd of 3 fantastic courses and the shortest but never the less a good challenge in itself. Brilliant design with lovely fairways, views and greens all kept very well. The clubhouse, well stocked shop and facilities were excellent as was the welcome by the staff. My son and I played No.2 on our way to The Open this year. We got a twilight deal which made the course even better value (would still have been pleased at full price) The course was immaculate and such a good test. It was my son's first experience of Links golf and it seemed to bring out the best in him as he broke 100 for the the first time anywhere! If you are in the area you simply must play Gullane. We cannot wait to return, just wish it wasn't 200 miles away!

Quite expensive for a semi links course but a lot of variation
Loved this course. Challenging in the dry conditions with a f=hefty breeze at times. But Good shots were definitely rewarded. Shame aboiut the pace but with 50 Swiss and 6 Dutch women in front, was always going to be a long round.Reviewer Rating

Last day of our trip, we had extremely strong winds making this a very difficult day. Balls were oscillating constantly and sometimes being blown away from where they stopped on the green. Really enjoyed the course despite this, amazing views from the top of the hill and the course in great condition. rough has been cut back making this is a bit fairer although if you do hit a particularly bad shot you will be punished. Staff in both the visitor and members clubhouse, starter hut and pro shop were top drawer. Would love to play again.

The ultimate in golfing enjoyment
The ultimate in golfing enjoyment with 3 courses of pure Scottish links enjoyment. Number 3 is the shorter but no less of a challenge for its length. Excellent value, excellent facilities and clubhouse and a very warm welcome to boot too.(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 86 Handicap: 18.9)

Proper Links Course
Second visit back to Gullane, this time to play No. 2, and it doesn't disappoint. A proper test, with the rough long enough to make it interesting, especially when the wind got up! Some amazing views from the course and a great practice area, all you can really want for a golfing day out!(Round played: Jul 2021 - Score: 85 Handicap: 11.7)
