What the club says: Golf has been played over the links at Gullane for more than 350 years. Today, Gullane Golf Club is one of Scotland's most prestigious member clubs, mixing the finest tradition with some of the most admired natural links land in the world.
Gullane is blessed with superb turf and a climate that allows all year round golf. Visitors are welcome to play our championship courses which offer dramatic coastal views and a golfing challenge to savour. Laid out over prime seaside land, the three golf courses are simply known by number reflecting their age.
Gullane No. 1 (1884) has a long history of hosting national and international championship golf events, most recently the Local Final Qualifying for the 2013 Open Championship at neighbouring Muirfield.
Gullane No. 2 (1898) was laid out by the legendary Willie Park Jr and has also been used for Open Championship Qualifying as well as the Seniors Open Amateur.
Gullane No. 3 (1910) was also designed by Willie Park Jr. It may be the shortest of the three courses, but it provides a wonderful test based on shot-making skills rather than power.
Gullane offers a unique range of golfing experiences for members and visitors alike, combining a major role in the history of golf in Scotland, great golfing conditions, and a truly spectacular environment. Today, Gullane Golf Club is one of Scotland's most prestigious member clubs mixing the finest tradition with some of the most admired natural links land in the world.

Superb courses, particularly 1 and 2. A stern but fair test in very tough conditions. - Sep 9 2010
Golfshake Team Review
Played #2 in April 2016. Wow, wow, wow. This was a fantastic links experience on a course that was exceptionally well presented.
Don't be fooled by the first 2 holes which are down near the road and fairly standard golf holes. After playing the unique 3rd hole up Gullane Hill the course then opens out, provides the true links test and then you get to experience the bunkers if you play like me! There are over 100 small pot bunkers and I probably went in 25% of them
The welcome we excellent, course condition fantastic, course layout splendid and a course I will go back to once I've played #3 and #1 if I get the chance. - Jun 22 2016
Golf Course Reviews for Gullane Golf Club
Everyone wants to play Gullane No 1 or No 2, but, do yourself a favour and try this little gem.
(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 87 Handicap: 24)
As a student in Edinburgh I played Gullane 3 regularly and Gullane 2 when we felt like a treat. (Gullane 1 was always out of our price bracket!) This is a wonderful place, just classically Scottish links golf. Went back recently and played both 2 and 3 (1 still out of my price bracket!) and they were both great. 3 is good for a fun, sociable round. 2 is a proper test of your game. If you are in the area, make sure to play Gullane.

As ever the courses at Gullane looked to be in special condition. We played no 1 and it was really good.

Gullane No.3 Not the longest of courses, but in superb condition. A tricky strong breeze blowing off the Firth of Forth, made for some tricky conditions.

First experience of links and what a great one! 3 great courses, played No 2 which was in fantastic condition for the time of year. Tough but fair challenge with some stunning looking holes, and a really nice clubhouse for pre/post round refreshments. Be prepared for the hills!
Terrific views over the Forth Estuary.
Terrific views over the Forth Estuary.
For someone who rarely gets the opportunity to play links golf, this course is immaculate in all areas. The greens and fairways are excellent and true, the bunkers and course furniture all kept in fantastic condition.
Although the shortest of the 3 courses at Gullane, it still provides a great game of golf focussed on thinking and accuracy. Some beautiful holes, scenery and a brilliant day out, even at 3 degrees!
Just a joy to play in such a location and course.
(Round played: Nov 2017 - Score: 78 Handicap: 8.5)
A lovely links course in great condition. Being the ?No3? course - it?s not as long as the other 2 which suited us. Some bunkers were closed for repair (luckily I never landed in them anyway) but overall the course was in great condition.
Played on a windy but sunny day the views of Edinburgh and Fife were stunning; no wonder the Scottish Open is to return next year. No.2 is a challenging course almost the equal of Gullane No.1. As always in excellent condition throughout with fast true greens. A real pleasure to play. Good visitors centre servicing No."s 2&3
Well worth the fee for a beautiful, well cared for course. Just as challenging as the No 1

What a course, beautifully care for, amazing views. Expensive if you're not playing with a member but every golfer should play this course. Just the best!
