I am biased as it's my home course. Great layout and a really friendly welcome from all. Excellent value and the course has a path all the way around making it buggy accessible in all weather.

Best and most friendly club in the area by far. Great lay out and nice scenery all around the course.

Got to own up and admit I'm a member here. Why ? , it's the friendliest club in the area with no airs and graces or golf snobery which you get at other locations. Don't get me wrong , we follow golf etiquette and rules in the clubhouse but there's no looking down on anyone and all are welcome and included. The layout of the course is easy to follow and depending on the wind quite challenging. The greens are great all year round but the course itself can be a bit muddy in winter , in Summer it's a different course altogether with great bounce and run of the ball.
The pro shop is well stocked and the guys are really knowledgeable and helpful and the members don't bite either !
Ample car parking facilities , changing rooms and all the usual equipment for hire added to a friendly hospitable bar / catering area makes it a good venue for all. Societies are welcome.
For me as a humble bang average player , it's simply the best course and value for money in the area.

This is a lovely parkland course, nicely kept and manicured. My wife and I stayed in the on site cottage, which was beautifull. We played two games, both time loving the course. Each hole offers a different challange, but not too difficult. Great staff, nice food in the clubhouse.
Well done Glyn Abbey.

I enjoyed playing this course but it wasn’t in its best condition. The fairways on the back 9 holes needed cutting.

A great club for a beginner, fairways can have a few daisies growing on them which makes spotting your ball difficult, greens can be varying in speed.

What makes this club so great though is its members, if you have nobody to play with then there will always be someone in the clubhouse to have a knock with.

Some times play can be quite slow as the course seems to be quite popular with the old age.

All in all a good value round for the higher handicap golfer.

Bit of a strole from the 10 green to 11 tee and back again going from 17 to 18

Set in the beautiful countryside of Kidwelly, this course enjoys an ideal location for a parkland golf course.

A warm and friendly atmosphere is immediately derived from the clubhouse, and with first class practice facilities only walking distance from the first tee, there is no excuse not to be fully prepared for your round.

A challenging tee shot is faced on the first hole, with trouble down the left hand side and trees on the right, hitting the fairway is a must. The longer hitters will be rewarded with a chance to hit this par-5 in two, whilst a strategic lay-up is required from the shorter hitters.

The front nine at Glyn Abbey does not require astronomical length to score well, but finding the fairways is a must on every hole; and with deep bunkers and plenty of tough lies around the greens, wayward shots are severely punished.

The signature hole on the course comes at the par-4 17th hole. A long and straight drive will leave even the bigger hitters with a challenging approach. Anything short of the green will leave you with a steep uphill pitch; whilst over clubbing will result in your next shot being hit from heavy rough. A scorecard is not safe until this tough penultimate hole has been safely negotiated - par is always a good score here.

With interesting hole designs and stunning views over the Gwendraeth valley, Glyn Abbey is certainly worth playing. But with inconsistent greens and some holes lacking distance, there are other courses in the area that I would be inclined to play first if I was to return to Carmarthenshire.
