Nice course and facilities, spoiled by the greens
The course itself is very nice with a good variety of holes and pretty challenging however, the amount of sand on the greens was a real disappointment, literally covered in sand ... Reading putts was very difficult and landing the ball on the greens was a lottery, sometimes it stopped, sometimes it didn't, sometimes the bounces were out. Very strange for a course with such a good reputation.Good clubhouse facilities and nice food, shame about the greens.

Played late afternoon in April. Course deserted and weather beautiful - should have been top notch golf really, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the experience. Maybe because I was expecting dunes, sea/beautiful views and wilderness and the course is the opposite of that. Pretty flat for a links, couldn't see the sea and not that many truly memorable holes. Still it was well maintained and we were nicely welcomed, but you kind of expect that for £80 a round. I guess you can't please all of the people all of the time - or maybe it was because my golf stank...I'd give it another go because some courses grow on you.

Nick the starter is a credit to the club, helpful polite and a pleasure to deal with. The course was in good condition and you can see what they are doing to prepare it for the open qualifiers so it'll be amazing in the next 2 months

Great course, not so great welcome from the members though! Staff all friendly and helpful but the members are obviously not happy with the course being payed by non members as not one of them said hello back when we engaged with them....

Third time I've played this course. Played the course on a very nice still day for November. Course was in great condition for the time of year and with the rain in the past few weeks the greens were very receptive so conditions really were ideal for scoring. Course isn't too long for someone who doesn't hit the ball a long way. Couple of erant shots cost me breaking 80 easily. Would recommend this course if you enjoy links golf. Facilities in the club house were being up-graded at the time of my visit.

Society visit
Brilliant course in the golfing heaven of South Ayrshire. The professional, Nick, was brilliant, he even remembered us from our visit 12 months earlier. After a fairly short par 4 to open the course grabs your attention from 2 onwards with it's tricky greens and some very well placed, and hidden, bunkers. Don't recall a weak hole. Was invited here as a members guest and must say it was first class. Probably playing slightly shorter than normal due to the weather and the hard and dry fairways. Greens were immaculate and true. Would love to play it again.
