Challenging course for high handicappers, long and with rough which makes it difficult to play your ball if you can even find it. Well maintained throughout, though.

Greens much better than before when I have played but the bunkers and fairways were very poor it seems some money is required on adequate drainage instead of a cafe!

Two 18 holes courses with different layouts. Karsten has plenty of water to keep you on your toes, whilst Thornock is more of a woodland course.
Home of Ping, so good practice facilities, but the course could be maintained better.
good spike bar.

Beautiful course. Well maintained and greens in excellent condition. Had to wait to tee off but not that bad. Still got round in under 5 hours

Such a superb venue, when its on it !

I personally think Gainsbrough GC is one of the best golfing venues in my area, fantastic clubhouse and set up, two lovely courses and a great range and pro shop etc. However from late 2019 through to now (April 2021) there had been some issues with the Karsten Lakes course and how it was being looked after. Even their own members had raised concerns and did not accept the excuses that it was recovering from improvements made in 2019. But, I am pleased to say that playing it yesterday, it is returning to its glamorous best (Karsten Lakes that is). It's still not there yet, but its getting there and will be amazing as it used to be. Challenging long drives, water, tricky greens and a great finishing run of holes. This is a course worth going to for the whole package as in my opinion you really can't beat it in the Doncaster area. Keep up the redevelopments there and it will be a course everyone will want to visit,

Thonock Park is a good challenge

We have stayed and played here before and always love the whole place, from the best clubhouse in the area to the hospitality and the difference in the two courses. They are very inviting to visitors and we certainly would go back again and again. The Thonock Park Course is interesting and has some nice long holes, personally I prefer the Lakes course, but I would play either given the chance.

Nice course, could be great !

Have always wanted to play this course and now I am ending up playing it three times in three weeks ! But the first visit was pretty good, but the ferocious wind sploit the play somewhat, which of course is not the courses fault. There are some really interesting holes which need thinking through and plenty of water which I like. We did think the fairways could be tidier, more signage is needed between holes and yardage markers. Clubhouse was great, as was the food and hospitality.
