Turned up at the course today ( 20 Sept ) thought I,d like 2 start playing again..door locked , no-body about..hung around 4 half an hour ...went to Scunthorpe instead.
Still would like 2 play again at Rapier..once the greens are playable ... had some good times there , would like 2 have some more.. : - ) If the new owners need help with grass cutting , I,m retired and available ( for a small stipend ) one or two days a week... what dyou think... would like to hear from you either way.

THIS COURSE IS NOW UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP! It has now re-opened and is looking in pretty good nick. The greens still need a little work but they are acceptable now. Today I scored rather well so maybe I am a little biased in saying I quite like this course! But still the fairways are of a good standard now. And the new owners told me that the tee boxes will be cut shorter very soon.

The course itself is now very promising and I'm looking forward to seeing the end result. The toilet facilites are still not good and there is nowhere to get refreshments. But hey the course is only a short drive away from my house and it is very convenient.

I don't know where to begin. The course itself is very open and looks like waste land. There is nothing scenic about it. The toilets are disgusting "Porta-Potties" and there is nowhere to take a rest or refresh. I'm sure they do have one but it looks like there is no greenskeeper on this course! The greens are like fairway, the fairway is like rough, and the rough is about four feet deep in the second cut!

What makes it worse is that the price goes up every year and the quality goes down. Some serious re-organisation needs to be done at this course for it to earn it's title as " a golf club". Right now it is more of a "turn up and pay to be disappointed hell hole".

Long 9 hole course set on old army land. Honesty box, so take change. Once you've paid your one off fee, you can play all day without extra charge.
No drink/snack facilities, so take what you need. Toilet facilities are very basic, but what do you expect for £6, play all day.
