Good day out

Winter Warmer ie18 holes and lunch great value for money Very friendly members A few fairways a bit muddy but greens true and slick Rough and gorse well cut back so very forgiving at the moment Will I go back? Absolutely Especially once the fairways have dried and the rough grown up

Frinton golf club

We play there every year in the Christmas holidays, normally it is dry apart from the second hole, this year six fairways were in terrible condition with a lot of water on them. The greens were woolly and slow certainly not up to there usual standard. A lot of work will now be needed with the courses drainage. The club house and the changing rooms have now been upgraded and looks really good, staff are as friendly as ever. Hope the course improves for the future as i normally tell people how good it plays in the winter months.

Could be better

Course is in a nice part of Frinton on the Seafront, but greens are very hard and fairway is cracked considerably in some locations. In need of some TLC and rain!

Excellent seaside links course, not overly long but very difficult when the wind blows. Well kept, be careful of the hiden waterways and the greens are very fast. Good, friendly pro shop and Good practice facilities. Worth playing if you are in the area

Great course, with problems

Unfortunately it was frosty on the day so we had temp greens (or holes in the fairway). However, they have a pretty major issue with about four of their fairways due to incorrectly mixed clover killer being used. This has completely ruined these fairways and they'll be a long time getting them back to decent condition.

That said this is an historic layout and a great challenge for all levels. The clubhouse staff and very friendly and welcoming. (And very apologetic for the state of their course)
I hope they overcome the fairway issue because this is a great course.

Frinton

Played New Years eve, well drained as had a lot of rain, greens good as ever but it looked like they had trouble with the fairways getting burnt in the summer as all the high spots did not have grass but probably be in hand for the spring. Friendly as ever with good facilaties and had the men's changing area refurbished which is really good.

Greens are excellent

An open links course which belies the obstacles around the course, with pockets of rough, ditches etc. to keep things interesting.

Frinton is a typical links course with undulating fairways and wispy rough off the fairways. The greens in general are the best I have played for some time. It is not a particularly long course but the wind is always a factor making it more challenging than it looks at first glance for the visitor.

(Round played: Apr 2015 - Score: 89 Handicap: 18.1) Fairways and greens in very good condition. The bunkers need some attention with a consistent amount of sand required; some have much too little sand.
