Quiet evening round

Pretty much had the place to ourselves with a 1640 tee time. Bit of a race against time re the light but got round in time. Course in great condition.

Hollow tyned greens

Bit bumpy on greens due to tyning. Made putting difficult. Otherwise in good condition.

Great course but as this was the first time playing a championship course in hellish wind and rain, it kinda spoilt the fun. In summertime, this course would be a must play in my book.

Pleasant enough parkland set up with some nice views and holes. Quite a few straight holes which require longish, straight driving off the tee. Fair few water hazards, some of which well in play. Hard to judge and comment on the greens as they were being spiked and top dressed with an autumn programme of maintenance. Looked ok and members I spoke to seemed happy with them.
Tees and bunkers ok but with some shallow sand, in places
General layout of the course was logical and quite well signposted. Clubhouse nice with outside balcony seating overlooking 9th and 18th greens, which are close together. Bit of a trek to 1st tee but good warm up facilities including nice starters hut, putting green, bunker and nets more than make up for the walk. Overall a tidy setup and very good value for my £13 green fee. Shame the greens were being sanded. Will play again.

was a member here last year so really like the course. some lovely views on 3rd hole lots of trees and ponds greens are not so good this year quite bare and bumby. the bar and restaurant are first class and so are the staff.

Pllayed this morning at 0736. Heavy rain over last 2 days hasn't affected the course. Greens have been dressed and are in very good condition. Fairways mown. Course well maintained. The course provides a good test of golf for all. Good facilities all around.
