The course is an excellent layout and provides a very good test for your game. We had not played here since last year and were very disappointed with the greens which were bone dry and very sandy. If you tried to land a pitch it would just bounce off the back. We were hoping the course would be in tip top condition for the start of the season and won't rush back.

Down hill
Played Forest Hill today (16/05/18) for the first tine in a couple of years. We as a group were extremely disappointed in the course. It was in a poor state compared to previous visits with the fairways unkempt and the greens virtually unplayable. Would not visit again im a hurry.Reviewer Rating

Very boggy
Recent heavy rain made the course quite unplayable. Lost balls plugged on the fairway. Greens in remarkebly good condition. Worth playing later in the year but has suffer3d badly at the hands of the wet weather.(Round played: Apr 2018 - Score: 97 Handicap: 21.8)

Challanging Course
Although the weather was bitter cold, the course was exceptionally well prepared and in great condition with every green open and only a few winter tees to contend with. From start to finish a real pleasure to play here. The staff made us feel welcome and in the 19th hole afterwards we were made to feel like genuine club members what a great day. Great course but as this was the first time playing a championship course in hellish wind and rain, it kinda spoilt the fun. In summertime, this course would be a must play in my book.

Pleasant enough parkland set up with some nice views and holes. Quite a few straight holes which require longish, straight driving off the tee. Fair few water hazards, some of which well in play. Hard to judge and comment on the greens as they were being spiked and top dressed with an autumn programme of maintenance. Looked ok and members I spoke to seemed happy with them.
Tees and bunkers ok but with some shallow sand, in places
General layout of the course was logical and quite well signposted. Clubhouse nice with outside balcony seating overlooking 9th and 18th greens, which are close together. Bit of a trek to 1st tee but good warm up facilities including nice starters hut, putting green, bunker and nets more than make up for the walk. Overall a tidy setup and very good value for my £13 green fee. Shame the greens were being sanded. Will play again.
