Challenging classic heath/parkland
Played here in the Silver Frigate over two rounds. A challenging course if you don't know it with quite a few blind shots ad shots that need to be hit specific distances to avoid trouble. Lots of slopes on the greens, which were pretty fast but not so firm that they wouldn't hold well-struck approaches. A real varierty of par 4 and 5 holes but the one criticism of the layout is that three of the par 3 holes play to very similar lengths. Conditioning is great, bunkers are lovely. Greens became a little bit bobbly later in the day but well worth playing. But don't expect to play your best first time out.Reviewer Rating

Relaxed and enjoyable day
This was a society day and we were welcomed by the clubhouse staff with Tea and Coffee ready n the bar before moving into the eating area for a Full English breakfast. For the time of year the course was in very good condition especially the greens. The bunkers are china clay so they can get a little compacted this time of year so that wasn't unexpected.
There is some work going on with large water areas built that will come into play on 14th and 17th holes which meant there were some GUR areas and a temporary green on 14.
A lovely course that offers up birdies but you need to plot your way around to avoid dropping shots to par.

Great setting and challenging course
Second visit so should have been easier this time but it hammered down with rain but this only really affected the course towards the end of our round when a couple of the approaches were waterlogged.Had a great breakfast before the round and a nice pint after service was excellent.

Long established course in excellent condition
The club was very welcoming to our society with helpful and attentive staff. The park land course is well established in a scenic location. Considering how many courses are struggling to maintain course condition after the recent heat wave, this course is in excellent condition, tees, fairways and greens. Accuracy is required on many of the holes and the undulations on some greens are testing.Reviewer Rating

Definitely worth a visit
What a superb course. Tree lined fairways, some really challenging holes, well placed bunkers and lightning fast beautifully manicured greens. Challenging for the average golfer but well worth a visit. Lovely terrace overlooking course and great little cafe at the 9th serving food and drinks.Reviewer Rating

Excellent
Weather has been wet, but course in very good condition. Very enjoyable course, well designed, nice views. A lot of new bunkers being put in which will make it more challenging. Clubhouse good and members very friendly indeed.Reviewer Rating

Beautiful course
Society day started with excellent bacon roll and coffee before 18 holes off the yellow tees. The 1st tee was busy from the time I arrived at 7:30 until I left mid afternoon so getting a tee time can be difficult at short notice.Course has a good mixture of holes and challenges and the greens were true and smooth but tricky to read. There are some steep drop offs so you need to know where to place your shots or you will run up a score.
Surrey Hills is a lovely part of the country and this course has some great views.

Great course
Played here for the first time on a society day. Interesting course in excellent condition. Greens are great and rolled really well without being too quick. Course is a mixture of park and heathland which gives it variety. Few blind tee shots here and there too. Really well looked after on the day and look forward to playing it again.(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 86 Handicap: 12.5)
