This course is great value for money and a great course to learn the game. This is a public course, hence why you will get dog walkers etc. The staff work hard to keep the course in good condition. Granted there are no rakes for the bunkers and some of the fairways are not in great shape. Howver a testing enough course for most golfers.

Local course in fairly decent condition, always see people working on course whilst playing as well

Not a bad course, but this is part of a huge complex and it looks like funds are spent elsewhere as some bunkers for example didn't even have a rake

Ok course but in some places fairways and greens are not the best. Ok value for money all things considered.

Having not been here for a while and having seen some poor reviews on the internet I wasn't sure quite what to expect. Overall I was pleasantly surprised. The course was in decent nick if not fantastic and the greens were ok with the exception of one where someone appeared to have lit a campfire! Clubhouse is pleasant with views over the lake. As long as you don't expect too much you can have a pleasant round at a reasonable price.

I have played the course on many occasions, it's where I learnt how to play the game so I do have some emotional attachment to the course. However, it is without doubt the worst course in Essex. Dog walkers, runners, people bunking on, geese poo everywhere and less said about the greens the better. But if you are a high handicap player and want to play a course that will not punish you to much then go but be prepared.

The worst par 3 course I have EVER been on. I am 10 years old and my Nan took me there today. My Nan had to ask/tell four people (and two dogs) to move off the course. Firstly, there was a Mother and Father with A BABY using the fairway as a park! Secondly, a man and two children (one on a bike!) who were also walking over the fairway. Then, a boy was running around a greenside bunker, presumably about to build a sandcastle! Lastly, a man and two dogs walked about as if he were in a park! Also, the course was in a terrible condition and not worth the charge £17. We both agreed we would never go again!
