What the club says: The 6,900 yard, 18 hole Championship County Course has already won critical acclaim for its challenging yet fair features. With four par 3’s, nine par 4’s, five par 5’s, ten lakes and strategically placed bunkering give a spectacular beginning and finale to the round. The course provides a constant choice of shots for golfers of all standards.

The 2,200 yard, short par 34 Garden Course, offers a different challenge altogether. Its tightly guarded greens, tricky par 4’s and attractive par 3’s present an intriguing and popular challenge to beginners and experts alike.

Course in decent condition.Staff friendly breakfast was good. Long walk on a hot day but quite flat. Enjoyable course .

Great golfing day out.
Friendly place with nice vibe. A longish, flat parkland course with wide fairways, water hazards and bunkers that can trip you up. Course in really good order, firm given the lack or rain. Staff friendly, food fair price but underwhelming. Really good practice facilities and an excellent driving range onsite.Pace of play was good, perhaps a few too many buggy users, but that’s a personal thing, I walk as want the thinking time between shots and the workout.
Great for families as there is swimming pool, spa, paddle tennis for non golfers.
Thoroughly enjoyable and I recommend.

Great course but incredibly slow pace of play
Course was in great condition (fairways, bunkers, greens all very good), only affected by the impact of the large numbers of resident geese! But the pace of play was extremely slow, not clear why (quite a few players joining groups later in the round?).Reviewer Rating

Well structured course
This course is not easy for occasional players like me. Great way to start the year. Enough water to cause problemsIt has been a hard winter but course was in quite good condition considering.

Very enjoyable
The Club Company are clearly doing a good job here. The course was is very good condition, the greens especially deserve mention. Excellent roll with subtle breaks. It's a long course, so be ready for 400 yard plus par fours. But it's a very interesting layout. No two holes are the same and the par threes are all good to look at.Staff are all very friendly, food is decent quality too. Pace of play was very acceptable and well controlled by the marshall.

Second time round here as part of a society. Well looked after and hotel is decent. Course was in good condition and an enjoyable round. Facilities are decent. Well worth a visit.

Great course in lovely condition, it had poured of rain for 2 days & a night, when arrived at course should have closed, as course waterlogged, fairways had lakes on them & lost several balls as couldn't reach them, remarkable greens were good, still think they should've closed course & give us a credit note to return later in the month when weather improved

played course twice on a society break.The course was in a beautiful condition and the greens were immaculate greens that punished poor putting, they were quick. Tree lined so need to be straight or punished.

Heavy Rain
Went to course in the pouring rain thinking that I will be shut because of heavy rain all the previous day, lady in golf bar said still open & ready to play. Put our wets on & played first 3 holes in heavy rain, fairways were waterlogged with more water on them than in the ponds. Having said all this course In amazing condition, once you got to the greens they to were great for how much rain we had. We played 18 as weather got better, we have played here a few times & it is a lovely course with friendly staff & members, always happy to come backReviewer Rating

Dull and over rated
Very flat, very long and unimaginative. Better courses nearby.Welcome from staff was very cold and in general the bar/restaurant very unwelcoming. Have to remember this is “country club” so better golf options out there welcoming of golfers and a nicer clubhouse ambience.

Very nice course. Well maintained and watered appropriately. Only thing I didn't like was that on some greens there were sprinkler heads in the putting surface, not around the edges of the greens as is normal.

Unimaginitive
First the good bits.. the course is well maintained, great fairways which are flanked by trees which punish wayward shots and the par threes are nice. The major issue is geographical.. being based a very flat former WW2 airfield (a small one still exists right next to it) it is dead flat and many of the holes present the exact same challenge. Straight drive, long approach, try and avoid the inevitable bunkers to the left and right of each green, putt on the largely flat greens.. repeat, repeat. . It's nice, but you do get tired of playing largely the same shots on each hole and you are often left wondering if more imagination could have been used years ago when they were laying out the course.. Worth the visit
Originally booked a society day and was able to arrange for the facility to pay on the day. However numbers couldn’t make the day and the club was very accommodating with numbers even been reduced on the day. For an organiser this made my day.The course was in very good condition and challenging enough for our leve of play.
All the staff - front of house and catering - were all brilliant making for a lovely day. Pity the weather didn’t oblige but nobody has any control over that.

Well cared for course. Initially played after a few days of rain and the course was holding up nicely. Then two rounds of torrential rain resulted in waterlogged parts. Course is laid out well with friendly staff. When the fairways dry up a bit, then same great holes to attack and other require planning.

Worth playing again
Course is well laid out, clear signposting/paths, some really challenging aspects of the holes. The course has more length than others nearby, forcing you to use more clubs.Unfortunately, lots of the greens have pitch marks. That said, some friendly members and a polite and welcoming warden.
The course handled the rain from prior days reasonably well with some patches. I battled through 2 torrential downpours, I don't thing any course could survive that to be honest. Maybe the course should have been closed due to damage to the course.
