What The Club Says
On 230 acres of rolling Essex parkland to the north of Gosfield Lake, where once the court of Queen Elizabeth I took the air, golfers now enjoy peace and tranquillity away from the bustle of modern life. In this idyllic setting the Course winds around and over the lakes, through woods and across streams in some of the most beautiful countryside in England.
The Lakes Championship Course here at Gosfield has the potential to become the finest inland test of golf in England" so said Sir Henry Cotton. Sir Henry was responsible for masterminding the design of the 6,700 yard Lakes Course and the less demanding 9 hole Meadows course in association with Golf Architect, Howard Swan. Sir Henry is remembered by giving his name to his own particular favourite hole at Gosfield, the 14th "Cotton's Choice".

Dry summer
Have played this course many times over past few years, the layout is great with some lovely holes but unfortunately I have never seen it in such poor state, think this is due to the summer drought, hopefully it will return to its original glory, I sincerely hope so as it is a lovely course. Clubhouse & food great with very friendly staff & members, will definitely come back in a few months to see how it's fairingReviewer Rating

Perhaps the perfect golf club
4th time playing this Sir Henry Cotton designed course in glorious Essex countryside.Lucky enough to enjoy it in fabulous early-April sunshine.
