just back from a weekend playing this course and isle of purbeck and ferndown. Have to say this was by farf my favourite. Excellen greens and a course that makes you think about your shots because of the water hazards.

Sweeping fairways up and down

Very good course with beautiful up and down valleys, near the River Stour. Greens good, especially considering the amount of rain recently. In the valleys near the Stour there was significant standing water and mini extra tributaries, but I would say this did not detract from the course or enjoyment of the round.

Tough long course

Very enjoyable course that will demand that you use a driver as much as you can. Super condition of both fairways and greens. Bunkers well tended.
Lovely views throughout and also lots of wildlife to keep your attention.

Good facilities

Nice course good condition. Good club facilities although they would not allow one of our group to use spa.

Very Pleasant

In good condition for a November after some rotten weather obviously a bit damp in places but greens were really good. Played after twelve o’clock at a good rate which added to the enjoyment

Tough, challenging course, interesting layout

This layout has elements of a US course with lots of water in play on many holes. I played a week after maintenance week and the greens had recovered very well, running true albeit understandably a bit slow. It's a long course with the prevailing wind normally in your face for the longer par 4 and par 5 holes. Definitely worth playing, particularly if you can get the county card rate.

Would recommend and return

Played midweek twilight, first time visit. Course in good condition, a couple of small GUR areas (incl. a couple of bunkers) but otherwise good cover on the fairways, lush rough and firm greens. Course layout felt a little repetitive at times but enjoyable. Lots of ditches and water to navigate. Seemed very friendly and good pace of play. I was a single and got round in 3 hours, having been let through by 5 groups (without asking). Decent practice facilities etc. Am not local but would return if in the area again. Good value.
