Drayton Park, nr Abingdon
This little gem of a course, has a lot of interesting and challenging holes. The holes criss cross around the course, which makes it an easy walk. 3 par 3's and 3 par 5's on the front 9, make it a good test, with 2 par 4's over 400 yards make the back 9 a good test as well. Lots of bunkers around with enough sand in them and a fair amount of water hazards, which make shot selection important. Well looked after fairways and excellent greens. If I was to have a moan, there's 2 things that come to mind. Firstly, the tees could do with levelling out as they can be pretty uneven and, there are quite a few electricity pylons, but unless cables are to be buried, there's not a lot that can be done there. Off course facilities include a very decent driving range, well stocked pro-shop and very comfortable clubhouse. I'd recommend a visit.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 82 Handicap: 18.6)

Great find.
First time i’ve played here having ventured a bit further afield from London. Paid £15 green fee as it was Thursday. At that price i’m always a little wary but I needn’t have worried. The course was in super condition, the fairways in particular were a treat to play off, when I found them. Plenty of sand in the bunkers and the greens had enough in them to make you think. If you’re one of those with a phobia of pylons, then this ain’t the place for you, there’s a lot of them. I’ll be back though, because although forgiving, there’s still plenty of water and some tricky tee shots, the ninth in particular was a head scratcher. Bit annoyed that the bar staff aren’t always present in the bar. Having to ring a bell at 1300 to get a beer is not good practice. We waited over five minutes and left. Their loss I guess.(Round played: Apr 2018 - Score: 104 Handicap: 21.6)

getting pricey
drayton has a hedgehog wheels only policy at present ...so if you need to hire a trolley and play during the weekend the cost £30.50 .......the course is fine ...but i think this cost is pushing the good value for money drayton park did represent in the past.(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 104 Handicap: 22.3)

4 Ball sunday 24th sept
This course is parkland .....and flat ...and a good test for the average golfer as its not all about hitting the ball a long way ....avoiding ditches, ponds, and natural water courses makes for a good round. A short course when played off the yellow tee's (as I always do ) with most holes having elements of danger ...(Round played: Sep 2017 - Score: 92 Handicap: 21.6)

Great course and a friendly reception
Played this course last week off the white tees and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are some very tricky holes from the whites as the extra distance brings a lot more things into play, it's not just having a longer hole. The clubhouse is great, we had dinner after our round and it was lovely and a great price for 18 holes, bacon roll/tea/coffee and dinner. The lads in the pro shop were very helpful and gave anyone on our league match a 10% discount and free token for the range. We were meant to be playing another course next month but i think we are coming back to play here, this time off the yellows.aReviewer Rating
