I've played this course only a couple of times and found it very nice. Its not a long course but very tight in parts. It is well tendered and the greens are like snooker tables. The tees, bunkers and greens are kept in nice condition. If you play with a member you get a better deal. Be careful when you play as the course is in the middle of the race course and when there is racing on you are limited to how many holes you can play. The club house is across the main road so its a bit of a walk to the first tee and when you've finished your round. There is a well stocked pro shop and restaurant/bar. I would recommend playing this course as it is close to playing a links course with its layout and lots of bushes and heather across the course.

not bad, got a deal. a mate up in Donny, windy day, which put dampener on round.

Good course open throughout very handy if you slice a few, not well sign posted from the club house.

I played this course using a 2 for 1 voucher so worked out £13.50 a round which is fantastic value,The greens were in great condition to say they're played on all year but the only downfall was the bunkers I thought they was a little bare and needed more sand in.

Not my favourite course - The walk from club house to first tee is interesting over the main road. The course is tight and well worth a play - but there are (in my opinion) several better courses in the area.

Decent course but enjoyed it better before the Rracecourse/council cleared hundreds of trees. Shame. At least the members of the Racecourse can see their horses now ??????????????

Was surprised how good the course was, as it sits in the middle of a horse racing track. The course is undulating with plenty of different holes to play. Has some good risk and reward holes to take on if you are feeling up to it. Strange set up, with club house being one side of a main road, so have to use a crossing, then a bit of a walk past the practice area and the small putting green to get to the first tee. Greens are very undulating and still fast for the time of the year.

I played at Doncaster Town Moor GC on Friday 28th November 2008.
A relative of mine is a member here so everytime I'm up in Doncaster I normally get a round in here.
There was a frost on the ground when we started (10am) but all the greens were being used.
The greens were in a good condition but due to the weather and the frost melting in the sunshine they were very soft, so held a ball really well.
The fairways were in a good condition. There is a nice mixture of fairways, some wide and others tight. The 13th, par 3 hole is a real gem.
My only problem on the day was the tees. They have moved some of them to temporary tees, not mats, real grass tees but not the ones that they use during the summer. The grass on them was very long and some of them were uneven.
A couple of tees had been moved forwards so you lose 100 yards from the length of the hole.
Everytime I've played here the bunkers look well but they lack any depth with the sand, it's less than an inch deep. Once you realise this you know not to splash the ball out but to pick it out cleanly.
A large, friendly bar and a small pro shop complete the setup.
I do like playing here and would recommend anybody to have a round of golf here if they are in the area.

Course was lovely members not so much
The course played well but it was obvious the members both on the course and in the bar did not like guests playing. Was made to feel very unwelcome and probably not play again now.Reviewer Rating
