A Tough Walk
Played here March , 2020.We hadn't planned to play here but this was about the only course in the Torquay area that had 18 holes open with only a few temporaries during a long spell of terrible weather. They did us a twilight rate of £14 which was good value .
Firstly ,it is a long course & a very hard walk round .It's really a buggy course, not that i use them & on a sign at the entrance they offer free buggy use with membership which i have't seen before .
Unfortunately we played in strong winds and drizzle ( the course held up well ) so we didn't get the benefits of the views which are probably one of the courses attributes .Some of the early holes were quite dramatic ( holes 3 ,4 &5 ) .Ten was a good hole but the rest are well designed but fairly standard American style parkland holes .
A couple of the holes were a bit silly .Although 10 is a good hole off the separate back tee near the clubhouse you have to carry trees a bit below & can't see where your ball ends up which could mean a lost ball & a long walk back to the tee & the back tees on 18 could easily wreck a card as you have to carry water which will be too long for most ,particularly into wind & with no bail out area.
The course was well conditioned & held up well in the atrocious conditions .
Overall , if you don't have a buggy expect a hard walk ,try to play on a nice day for the scenery & the course will probably be open when others may not be during poor weather spells .
Having played it now i wouldn't be that fussed about playing it again mainly due to its terrain but it was a shame we weren't able to play it on a sunny day.

And yet the green fees are extortionate.
I wouldn't reccomend this course at all, used to be so much better. Shame really.

Tough hard course but well worth playing.
Course is very challenging but if you're straight and can putt you will be fine.Tee boxes could do with some work though.

Good course, but long!
Very good course, which is a great challenge with a variety of different types of holes.Well worth a visit but a buggy is a must due to the length between holes.

Course was lovely and very interesting, Greens were big with plenty of contours which were hard to read. Fairways were very good and layout of the holes was very interesting. Some great holes. Worst thing was the bunkers which were poor, little sand & unraked. Quite a walk between greens and some tees(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 95 Handicap: 11.5)
