A hilly, challenging layout

Course was damp after overnight rain, with very soft ground in places. Grass was longer than in summer months. Mud balls were common. Winter rules introduced on day of visit. Stiff breeze added to the difficulty. Many dogleg fairways, blind tees shots. Greens had been sanded in previous 3 days, much residue on surfaces.

One of those places that thinks it's better than it is. Although I wouldn't recommend, I'd play again just down to the convenience of it's location to me.

I've never found it to be the friendliest course. It could do with organising itself better. With 4 full 9-hole courses there shouldn't be the requirement for casual golfers to have to fit in between groups playing in medal rounds. Surely 2 sets of nine for comps and the other 2 for casual golfers and visitors.

I played this course recently on a golf works society day. Whilst the tees, fairways and bunkers were in tip-top condition, the greens had been spiked/sanded and were almost unplayable, making for a disappointing day.
I understand why this work was necessary, but to charge us the full rate on the day was rather unfair.

Rough on the orange needs cutting. If you go in there you have no chance of finding the ball, also was no told that one of the par 4s on the yellow is under reconstruction so is actually a par 3 yet they are still charging full price. Played a couple of weeks ago and got a warning for slow play, and my last 2 rounds have been told to play slow as they were trying to fit in as many tee times as they could due to 2 of the 9s being used for a club championship, which is fair enough, but again was not told this before booking the tee time. This place has great facilities, but they are all about making money at the cost of enjoyment and non members

The course was incredibly wet and waterlogged. Greens were ok and they gave us a £5 discount for the conditions. Not sure we were really aware of quite how wet it was though!

the 4 9's mean there is always a varied selection of 18 hole options, always in good condition albeit unsurprisingly pretty wet in places at this time of year.. some testing 9's particularly the blue

great variety

Always good to play here, the courses are all a bit different and offer different challenges, in very good condition generally although blue greens were bit woolly but to be expected this time of year
