Wet to start off so not much run on the ball yet greens were still quick.

The course sits within the shadow of Lumley Castle and has the river wear as its boundary. The greens were very receptive but true. The rough although short was thick and punishing. A really solid test of golf on a "proper" course (in the words of my playing partner).

Only 2 minutes drive from the town the course has Lumley Castle and The Riverside cricket ground in the background. We managed to get a cheap deal of only £7.50 which was excellent as its the first time i have played on the course even though living only 3 miles away. The greens were very quick and you had to pitch the ball 40 yards short to get it to stop on the green

The course is in excellent condition. Greens had just been fertilsed and a little grainy. Hospitality in the clubhouse was excellent. If you are in the area you should give this course a go.

Greens and fairways in very good condition, course is a stiff challenge if you don`t stay on the fairway. Good days golfing helped by some great weather.
