Shortish course but nevertheless well looked after, particularly the bunkers (which often aren't on some local courses)

Channels played tough in Hard conditions, but always enjoyable being a guest at this well maintained and interesting course.

Played Channels for the first time with a friend and was extremely impressed with the course, clubhouse and facilities. Every hole has it's own challenge, especially the holes with the water hazards!!. The front 9 seeemed a bit easier to me than the back 9, but all the holes had fairways and greens in fantastic condition. I'd say it's a very fair course - if you make a mistake then you are normally able to try for your par with a good recovery shot. Obviously the water is what makes this course very interesting in my opinion - a reasonable golfer should be able to clear the water on all the holes that feature it, BUT if you don't hit the ball quite right then you will be taking a drop ....so take plenty of balls with you. Handicap 22 - went round in 89.

Great round of golf at a friendly well looked after club. Would recommend to other golfers.

A great looking course but a terrible golfing experience. We were told that the greenkeepers were working on the 1st hole so we'd have to tee off from the 3rd.
On arriving at the 3rd hole a greenkeeper told us we couldn't tee off from there either and sent us to the 5th.
We prepared to tee off from the 5th but were then approached by a group of 5 surly members who told us we couldn't tee off from there either!
We gave up and went back to the clubhouse. No refund (or partial refund) was offered, but we were told that we could at least start on the 1st as the greenkeepers had moved on.
On approaching the green we could see that the flag had been left out. On closer inspection we found that the cup had also been removed. Hoping that this was just a mistake, we pushed the cup back in and finished the hole.
On the 2nd hole we once again found that the cup had also been removed and just putted into an open hole as we weren't happy with doing the course management pro-bono!
In the end we skipped to the 5th hole again, but soon found ourselves stuck behind the aforementioned 5-ball, who steadfastly refused to let us through. At one point we sat for what seemed like hours watching with incredulity as each of the 5 teed off on a short par 3 and not one landed on the green!
Me and my partner quickly teed off, landed on the green and putted a birdie each in full view of them. Again they refused to let us through and the saga continued, watching their dreadful attempts at trying to tee off - this time over water!
By now the whole experience had become a joke. The people behind us were obviously regulars as they approached us and said 'I take it that lot won't let you through?' In the end we had a good chat with them, there wasn't much else to do.
Positives? Well it's a great looking course which I'm sure would be nice to play, if only it wasn't run (and populated by) the cast of Monty Python!

Nice Course. Plenty of Variety of holes.
Played early sunday morning.

First time on this course and really liked it. Front 9 is nice and tight and the back 9 opens up a bit. The fairways were great. The greens were playing very fast. Very good use of water on the back 9 teeing off over lakes. Tree lined fairways on most holes.
The clubhouse is good and the food was good too.
I will be returning here soon especially as it was £25 including ham egg chips and a roll.

Course in very good condition very green for the dry time of year, greens very good great roll on the ball and receptive to short irons (When I eventually hit them!)
