A great looking course but a terrible golfing experience. We were told that the greenkeepers were working on the 1st hole so we'd have to tee off from the 3rd.
On arriving at the 3rd hole a greenkeeper told us we couldn't tee off from there either and sent us to the 5th.
We prepared to tee off from the 5th but were then approached by a group of 5 surly members who told us we couldn't tee off from there either!
We gave up and went back to the clubhouse. No refund (or partial refund) was offered, but we were told that we could at least start on the 1st as the greenkeepers had moved on.
On approaching the green we could see that the flag had been left out. On closer inspection we found that the cup had also been removed. Hoping that this was just a mistake, we pushed the cup back in and finished the hole.
On the 2nd hole we once again found that the cup had also been removed and just putted into an open hole as we weren't happy with doing the course management pro-bono!
In the end we skipped to the 5th hole again, but soon found ourselves stuck behind the aforementioned 5-ball, who steadfastly refused to let us through. At one point we sat for what seemed like hours watching with incredulity as each of the 5 teed off on a short par 3 and not one landed on the green!
Me and my partner quickly teed off, landed on the green and putted a birdie each in full view of them. Again they refused to let us through and the saga continued, watching their dreadful attempts at trying to tee off - this time over water!
By now the whole experience had become a joke. The people behind us were obviously regulars as they approached us and said 'I take it that lot won't let you through?' In the end we had a good chat with them, there wasn't much else to do.
Positives? Well it's a great looking course which I'm sure would be nice to play, if only it wasn't run (and populated by) the cast of Monty Python!

Been a few years since I have played at channels. One of the guys in our group never played the course. Did it on a deal ?20 . Checked on google earth and discovered they have lost a number of original holes ( some of the best ones. E.g. Old 6th and old 8th) land has been sold and new houses have been built, course will shut next march. So the 18 holes are now a mix of old 9 hole and original 18. Course itself was in good condition, greens still quick and true. Overall course ,although in my view not as good as original. What they have done is tried to maintain and 18 holes. Sad to think it will disappear next year.

Course rating 6 out of ten. Greens terrible conditions. Played other courses recently with greens in much better conditions

Played here today with three friends for the first time for three years and I must say the new lay out is no where near as good as the previous 27 hole design. There was a lot of GUR and the greens were in fairly poor condition, we went out early but the greens were really bumpy. In fairness we have had some rain, however, with all the courses in the surrounding area it isn't worth £45 per round. We had some 2 for 1 otherwise wouldn't have played. I will not be rushing back, it was a cracking place but sadly spoiled now.

This course was undoubtedly better before the recent layout changes and is now pretty boring par four after par four in parts. There are still a couple of stunning holes but i would not now go back and it has much less appeal - it is no longer worthy of its inflated green fee. Following a bucket of overnight rain the course was playing long (though the greens were still good) and balls were plugging in the fairway on most hits. There seemed also to be a lack of care for the course with some of the worst (and most) pitch marks I have ever seen!! I didn't find the members or staff particularly friendly and would point potential visitors and societies elsewhere!

A nice golf course
Although only a 9 hole course with no par 5's its a pleasant course to play with some good holes especially if you are a learner golfer, it doesn't have too many challenges apart from a cross wind and the choice of club. Greens and fairways in good condition and pre-round practice facilities are plentiful. As it is a 9 hole it can be very busy at peak times with players playing 18 and you can be held for a while but if that is not a problem then a quick 9 is idealReviewer Rating

Solid Short Course, Good Value For Money
Solid short course to work on your game, with two tee positions (albeit mostly from similar distances/ locations). Very friendly golfers on course on a Friday afternoon, would recommend. Also good value for £(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 85 Handicap: )

Nice course avoid poor quality sand in bunkers
Corse in pretty good condition for the time of year. Looks like they are doing it up a bit. Bunkers are a real let down though looks like sharp sand from local builders merchants.Reviewer Rating

nice local course
the course is very nice to play and is forgiving on most of the holes. the greens are quite fast. i play this course every week as it is easy to get to as its only 10 mins from my work. the shop could do with more in it.(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 94 Handicap: 22)
