I became a member
I have just recently started playing golf again as I have played once in the past 12 years. Absolutely loved this course. Loved it so much myself and my 10 year old son became members. The only criticism is it's a bit short and it's hard to tell where the kids tees are. Other than that it's top drawer. How lovely the course is and how welcoming, helpful and kind the staff are was the main reason me and my son joined and the price is real value for money.... just wish my scorecard made better readingReviewer Rating

Great 9 hole course

Fantastic Course. Very well maintained
Greens were great and as were the fairways. Very challenging in places especially when you have to drive over the water on about 4 holes. The 17th really is a lovely hole. Im absolutely gutted it's to close end of march and is a hidden gem within the Essex Countryside. I will hope to be back before it closes

lovely course i just wish i played it before they started building in that area when they changed of the best wholes but i hope to play it again soon before It closing in March.

Played Channels for the first time with a friend and was extremely impressed with the course, clubhouse and facilities. Every hole has it's own challenge, especially the holes with the water hazards!!. The front 9 seeemed a bit easier to me than the back 9, but all the holes had fairways and greens in fantastic condition. I'd say it's a very fair course - if you make a mistake then you are normally able to try for your par with a good recovery shot. Obviously the water is what makes this course very interesting in my opinion - a reasonable golfer should be able to clear the water on all the holes that feature it, BUT if you don't hit the ball quite right then you will be taking a drop ....so take plenty of balls with you. Handicap 22 - went round in 89.

Course in very good condition very green for the dry time of year, greens very good great roll on the ball and receptive to short irons (When I eventually hit them!)
