Being a local I have played the Caerleon course many times , and yes , if you catch her on a wet day you will need a few extra golf balls (I have lost a few in the middle of the fairway at times) , but , having said that , you catch her on a good day , you are in for a reasonable treat , on a good looking , challenging course .. you must remember the course is a municipal one , but not so bad , I think .. the condition is fair to middling .. in places the facilities needs a good refurb .. all told , its a good place to enjoy a sociable , relaxed , knock about , or taking it a bit more seriously .. in both cases , enjoyable (if you catch her dry that is) .. enjoy your sport

Good Value for money - Shame about weather conditions leaving course flooded.

This course is quite challenging with a couple of extremely long par 4 holes that only the really big hitters can regularly achieve.
The course retains water so not very good playing conditions after a couple of rainy days. Major work taking place to try to improve the drainage.

Pay-and-play style course with no membership options. Due to this, playing Caerleon is difficult as ettiquette is not always upheld. The drainage is not the best and it gets difficult to play after (or during) bad weather. The course itself is actually very nice and quite challenging - skinny fairways, long rough and small greens pose quite a challenge.

No food, no beers, no out door seating, driving range abandoned, no water on the greens.
It looks like it's been abandoned by the celtic manor...Such a shame as as its a lovely course with great staff...
