Such a wasted opportunity. Brilliant setting, views and club house, Staff great, but course should be so much more. Hole 2 perfect to be extended and tee of onto an island fairway then island green. This could also create a challenges on holes1 & 3. Some bunkers needed on the dog leg on 4. 5 extended back 20 / 30 yds, 7 and 8 poor holes in every way, especially tee box on 7 needs to go over and back with the green totally relocated. They really need a re think 9, easiest par 5 ever. 9 & 10 should have small interlocking lakes causing issues all the way, 12 needs something again far too simple a par 5. 13, 14, 15 again simply enough holes. needs to be tougher, no real challenge. Again scope for water to be added. 17 ok (island green???) and 18th the green location stops any risk reward attempts. bring the green back a little but reshape the lake to allow for either go for it with some run off, of lay up but be accurate.

The course is lovely with a great view from most holes. Unfortunately the greens are a big disappointment. They are very hard with no chance of throwing your approach shot next to the pin. They are also very slow. Shame for such a nice course.

Not as good as it looks from the out side, £30 was a lot of money, tee boxes were shocking like a ploughed field.

All 18 greens were tempories. I know it was winter, but there was no frost at all. Spoilt what could have been nice round on a nice course.

Time of the year a key factor in the condition of the course. Although main greens were in play the course seemed a bit ragged.
The club house is quite impressive from the outside but nothing to shout about inside.

Tees and Greens particularly were a little tired and lacking in maintenance. The course though is very interesting and a challenge. With a bit of TLC on the course, this could be a class venue with the backdrop of the Hall.
Overall enjoyed my visit.

A beautiful clubhouse. The course is quite demanding, especially on the front nine as it it uphill all the way.Would recommend a buggy for the older player. We had a meal in the clubhouse in the evening which did not live up to expectations.
