What the club says: Opened in May 1995, the original 18 hole par 70 course has gained popular reputation among many golfers, and a further nine has been added. The course is laid out across two distinctly different settings, with eighteen holes carved into the hillside overlooking the Elham Valley and the third nine extending over parkland. Etchinghill offers extensive facilities to complement the 27 hole course and particularly welcome families and encourages beginners.

Played here for the first time whilst on holiday in the area. Great course set in a picturesque valley so several holes have sloping fairways as you climb up gradually during the front 9. Then levels out for a bit and you drop back down the valley as the back 9 progresses. Course appeared to be in great nick and played well. Made welcome upon arrival and also appeared to have a nice, much flatter 9 hole too though I didn't play that.

great course

Hard course with some narrow fairways and ball either always above or below your feet it seems. Nice quick greens.

Lovely Course, but a tough one to walk

The staff were welcoming and the facilities were very good. The layout of the Leas Course was excellent, but it was a tough course to walk, located on the hillside with some steep evaluations, definitely need to hire a buggy. There were no Stroke Saver booklets for this course which I believe should be available for purchase, for societies or players not having played the course before would have been very helpful.
Overall the Golf and day was very enjoyable.

Can’t fault Etchinghill in any way at all. Billy and challenging course, with immaculate greens and tee boxes. Members are also very welcoming. Love playing here just a shame it is so far away from where I live. Give it a go you won’t be disappointed.

Great course and facilities

Course was in really good condition, greens fast and fairways cut pretty short for the time of year.

A Great Course in Great Condition

For February the course was in fantastic condition and all tee boxes and greens were in use. From the 1st tee the course looks like it will be a grueling walk but the layout of the holes gradually takes you up to the top before working your way back down. The green fees are very reasonable staff were pleasant and helpful. I will definitely play again when in the area.

For the time of year January and damp the course is in good condition, no real rough to speak of, if you did find it you really had to be wayward, the greens are soft and putted well.

Excellent Condition

As throughout the year, the Leas course is in excellent condition. Despite the hot weather, the fairways were never scorched, with a fine cover of grass protecting them. The greens are very consistent and also in great condition.

Good condition

Lovely course in good condition. Reasonable challenge for all levels of handicap. Hole information on each hole could be better. One downside is that second and third shots are very often played with your feet above or below the ball due to the course being on a hillside.
