OMG sort it out!!!

I stopped playing here a year ago because the club seemed determined to ruin the course more than they already had. Played today with 3 friends, we all agreed to never play here again. I have played many courses over the last 20+ years and this is the first time I have seen rough encouraged to grow to enormous lengths around bunkers. Like a bunker isn't punishment enough, these idiots think they need 2 foot of thick rough around them. The deep rough.... an Amazonian tribesman hasn't foliage this dense. It is 100% impossible to find a ball, not just your own but anybody else's.

On a positive note they did fix the bunkers and the greens are much, much better than a year ago. But just as in the past the owners of this once fine club seem intent on destroying it. How can anyone come here for a golfing holiday and leave satisfied? You will lose all of you golf balls on the first day. Then it'll be the most expensive golf holiday you've ever been on after you've shelled out £30+ for a dozen golf balls each day.

Between myself and my friends our handicaps range between 10.3 and 21.5. Three of us below 14 we are by no means great players but are more than capable or successfully completing a round lose just a few balls between us. I lost 7 in 9 holes and I wasn't the worst.

Avoid this club at all costs.

It cost me £15 for an awful experience of 9 holes.

Cost me £18.66 in golf balls.

We are never playing here again.

Mr whitworth

Sorry but the worst golf course I’ve played. The greens are unplayable ,all the bunkers are grown over, I appreciate the problems of the past but the new owners are advertising it as up and running in all departments,trust me it’s not.

Booked a 4 ball for today(26.09.13) have played the course many times and it is usually a good test. Today was even harder due to the amount of sand across every green, with the exception of two which were just holes cut into the fairway. I appreciate work needs to be done, but paying guests should be made aware before paying and playing. Staff very unsympathetic when I pointed this out.

I would play the course again but in summer as to much sand on greens and not long since greens have been spiked had trouble being able to judge the run and speed of greens, fairways were in good condition with plenty of run very enjoyable round warm welcome in 19th hole all in all nice day

course very open good for high handicappers although has a fair bit of water to lure those stray shots. frozen greens made the going very difficult but i guess thats the same everywhere. nice club house with good facillities

Really enjoyed my golf at boston west the course is back to a condition similer to when it was 18 holes if not better you van see alot of hard work and effort has gone into it from where it was a couple of years ago i will be back

Nice course and facilities, good condition. Tough start with a couple of tight driving holes and the risk/reward on drivable 17th finishes it off nicely.

Good set up

This course is part of a complex. Driving range and short game area adjacent to the Pro shop. Hotel accommodation on site for society golf and an excellent Bistro welcoming you on the 18th green. The holes themes are designed well to test how straight you hit and your choice of club. Water hazards and bunkers are well placed. The greens are large, undulating and run true but were suffering from the recent very dry spell when I visited. Fairways were in excellent condition.

Cracking course

Great course, tight in places but also forgiving in areas
Only let down was our tee time was 1236 put due to some poor planning by the course we teed off an hour late due to a massive society running either very late or queue jumped and teed off early. On events like that (looked like 6 groups of 4) a starter should have been in place. Our round took 5hours not including the hour wait.
