Vastly Improved
It's been quite a while since I've played here, but in that time the course has really improved. There are far more grown trees giving a few of the holes some definition, there's a new clubhouse, and the course itself is in very good condition. There's a 9 hole course (The Old Course) which when played twice stretches to 5587 yards from the yellows, plus a 9 hole par 3 course. This review is about the Old Course, although from memory the par 3 course was well worth playing.
Whilst the course isn't the longest, there aren't many holes that could be classed as easy. There are a number of holes with small, contoured greens, and 3 holes (6 if you're playing it twice) where water is very much in play. That said, it is a course that would suit all standards of player.
I was pleasantly surprised with the fairways and greens, which were in very good condition given the recent wet and snowy weather. The tees were decent. My favourite hole would be the 6th/15th, which is a very pretty dog leg hole around a lake.
The clubhouse is smaller than a lot of courses, but certainly pleasant enough, and there was a lovely welcome when paying the green fee.
I'll definately be back again soon.
