The Berkshire is a fabulous golf club. There are two outstanding golf courses and a superb pro shop and clubhouse which serves amazing food. The lunch is not to be missed and is a all you can eat carvery. You must stay out of the heather which is penal and eats golf balls, so hit a provisional if you go in. The greens are very true and quick with very subtle borrows. One of the best golf venues in the area.

Played here on a society day and it was great from start to finish. Friendly welcome, good breakfast and nice practice area. Played both courses and if pushed would say the red is the better course, although the greens were very sandy having been recently dressed. The blue course is flatter with some slightly longer holes, whilst the red course is played over more undulating and varied terrain with some shorter, but tighter holes. Both courses require very straight hitting and good course management, as the gorse and heather will eat up any stray shots. The par 5’s are fairly short by modern standards, which gives you a chance to increase your score. All in all a great venue with 2 great courses and would love to return.

Top quality course in Berkshire

There are two 18 hole courses (Red & Blue) both are exceptional despite recently having extensive course maintenance l, which we were advised of ahead of our booking. We played the Red in the morning followed by the Blue in the afternoon. Personally the Red won it for me, however that could have been because we played it first and every hole is beautifully presented and therefore by the time we played the Blue we were so used to how good the set up was. Both tough courses with thick heather and fast greens (although the Blue had more sand from the recent work on the greens). Staff and members friendly, facilities exceptional as you'd expect from a premium course. It is not cheap to play but take the day card option and play both courses to get maximum value for money.

The ultimate in golfing enjoyment

What can be said about a venue that truly offers you the ultimate in golfing enjoyment. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff with no signs of "airs and graces" for such a plumb venue. The unique 6 par 3's, 4's and 5's give this course a great test with some long reach holes. The condition is second to none and even with the current restrictions this visit was again extremely enjoyable. The food was delicious and the very well stocked shop a treat to explore. A fantastic visit once again, over 15 years of enjoying.

fantastic course

I'm fortunate to have a friend who?s a member of the Berkshire. I've played a lot of courses in Berkshire and Surrey and I?d say hands down my favourite spot is the Berkshire - blue or red. We played the red in January and it was in unbelievable condition. I would also say all the staff at the Berkshire from the pro shop, course manager and bar are extremely friendly and really make your day out to the Berkshire very special.

Playing with members so excellent value for money. Practice facilities are amongst the best I've experienced. Course is not long but still very challenging with a lot of character.

Amazing courses and club. Played both the Blue and Red and both are fantastically maintained, challenging yet fair courses. The greens on the Red had recently been treated so a little sandy and bobbly, but didn't detract much from our round.
