Really loved playing this course. shame its now closed down!! very open wide fairways however also very hilly in places.

Pleasantly surprised. Heard a lot about potential closure and lack of interest but it was in good nick. With some tlc it has potential, for ?21 for a round you can't really complain. Great beginner course, big fairways and forgiving.

Been going to the park since 1956 when steam trains
Ran through the park. The course used to be very popular, get a number Sunday morning go back later to play. Needs some attention these days.
Henry Cotton used to be the club pro.
Shame the Homestead burnt down. So many memories, hearing the clock chime out at night.
So shame on you Lewisham Council for closing

Believe course is being sold end of 2016, and feels like the council have let it go to ruin. In poor condition and can play much better courses for the same price. Shane as there are some good holes, but poor condition of courses soils this

Beckenham Place Park Golf course is quite short but situated in very pleasant parkland. It is controlled by Lewisham council who have let the condition of the course deteriorate over the last few years to such a state that very few golfers now use it. This has encouraged Lewisham Council to follow their plan to close the golf course at the end of this year. I will be sad to lose this fine and picturesque venue that I have been playing since 1970.

Best ever round played here 2nd sub 100 so I'm very happy chipped in for par on the 5th went round in a buggy would recommend this as it's quite a steep course in places

Nice course although needs to be maintained more frequently and thoroughly. The rough in some parts is far to overgrown.

Sad to hear this is closing. I grew up learning to play golf here over 25 years ago. There used to be a queue running to the house off the first tee. You literally had 50 people watching you fluff it onto the second green at times. Not sure if less people playing golf now is the main reason. Obviously the condition would have put some people off, but its perfect for a beginner or someone local who doesn't want to go miles for a public course. Yes the condition isn't great and its a rip off to pay full price, but would be sad to see it go. Its got character a lot of course lack, with the park and house backdrop.
