DO NOT PLAY WITHOUT A BUGGY! This is a real challenge of a course, some breathtaking holes, the wind was at between 30-40 mph (or that is what it felt like) but we still enjoyed the course and it was in very good nick. We will definately return later in season when the wind dies down.

Course in good condition as usual. Greens and fairways running pretty quickly.
Quite busy, given the weather wasnt looking very good but not too long a wait between holes. Could do with some ball cleaners on the tees.

A top notch golf coarse in great condition, its very hard to criticise anything about it.The coarse is set in a valley so a buggy is strongly recommended with many hills to walk. The coarse has many different holes of varying difficulty but if your straight then a good score is at your mercy. We will definitely play this coarse again as it will get easier knowing what shot to hit when you have a blind shot.We played at 1pm on a saturday and paid £15.50 and then another £10.00 each for the buggy which represents great value on such a well conditioned coarse but this cost does come down if you play with the same guys as me who seem to insist on paying for my golf week in week out. CHEERS GUYS.

A great course, best in the area. Some lovely looking holes, the long par 3 7th is a particular favourite. Greens and tee boxes in good condition and with a 2 for 1 offer after 2pm it was good value. Would definitely recommend a buggy though.

Shocked to hear that it is closing down shortly and being returned to farm land. Played it on Oct 30th with teaching colleagues - very 'claggy' and felt like I had moon boots on at times but we all enjoyed the challenge of the course. Great thing about this course is that you truly feel you've played a full round with all the ups and downs. This may also be its downfall as it is demanding (don't suggest a buggy please) and in competition with a good few courses within 15 miles. I will miss playing here if it does cease to exist
RIP Austin Lodge

The most amazing views, course lovely throughout (badger damage aside). Massive physical challenge walking the hills, buggy required for less able walkers.
