The course is a very challenging but very beautiful to play on the views are excellent, the greens are superb all year round, the course is very long but has some very beautiful holes. I play here every Wednesday and Saturday. I am extremely sad that his course has now closed. Kent has lost one the best courses in its county.

Shocked to hear that it is closing down shortly and being returned to farm land. Played it on Oct 30th with teaching colleagues - very 'claggy' and felt like I had moon boots on at times but we all enjoyed the challenge of the course. Great thing about this course is that you truly feel you've played a full round with all the ups and downs. This may also be its downfall as it is demanding (don't suggest a buggy please) and in competition with a good few courses within 15 miles. I will miss playing here if it does cease to exist

Played 24th October 2014, shot 86, handicap 14. I have an immense fondness for this venue for a variety of reasons. \1/ Staff, 2/ Staff, 3/ Staff. they are a lovely bunch of people. I Play here a fair bit as a pay and play and always am treated as though I'm a member (I'm not). I take my 8 year old son to play a few and putt a few and always have kind words of encouragement from staff and members alike. Cant do anything about the badgers unless you want the tree huggers down on you. With the place up for sale since 2011, and due to close shortly by all accounts, excessive spending on eradicating the the grubs that the badgers feed on is unlikely to happen. Greens are always great to Putt on and a good test of your range and borrow reading.

Awful course the trees were to big and the bushes were to bushy and I lost 45 balls.

Apparently Austin Lodge is for sale and may close as it is a little gem .....actually a large, long gem.

The most amazing views, course lovely throughout (badger damage aside). Massive physical challenge walking the hills, buggy required for less able walkers.

A literally hidden gem of a course, challenging played across two valleys. Have to use buggy if playing more than 18 holes. When windy, as it often is, it is particularly tricky.

Played here for the first time today and had a great time, the condition of the course was fantastic and the views are spectacular on some holes. There are a couple of signature holes here, making this a hidden gem.

Long, hilly walk. Recommend a buggy if you're not 100% fit. Looking in very good condition although some greens a bit 'woolly' and not as fast as they ought to be.
Some very elevated tee boxes, which give spectacular views. The 220 yard, par 3, 7th, which mus drop about 100 feet is a bit special.

Course in great condition, greens are consistent but could do with being a bit quicker. Overall the variety and challenge keeps us coming back

The course is long and well laid out with excellent fairways on most holes, however the greens had been spiked and quite heavy.

Considering the weather we've had, we were allowed to have buggies as it's a hell of a walk there and there was no sign of any water damage to the course. Very well gone.

this course is a tough challenge....long and in strong winds alot to think of.......today hurt me with a 105...ouchhhhh...loved it though
