Golfphinforkids aiming to improve junior golf experience
Golphinforkids is a brand new concept in children's clubs and it is fast becoming a phenomenon in the way youngsters are introduced to swinging a club for the first time.
With aerospace engineering and design at their core, they're lighter and more forgiving than traditional junior clubs, or cut-down adult clubs. And as a result, children find it much easier to take them away smoothly, swing, make contact with the ball - and, crucially, get it airborne.

The brainchild of Scotland-based businessman Calum McPherson and developed in partnership with PGA professionals and biomechanics experts at Strathclyde University, Golphinforkids clubs are unlike any other.
On average, they're 35% lighter and 25% larger than conventional junior golf clubs, which increases kids' chances of hitting the ball. Weight distribution specifically favours the lower half of the clubhead to make it easier to get the ball in the air.
Said Calum: "Our entire ethos and principles are focused on providing young kids with an enjoyable, fun filled and confidence building experience.
"Golphinforkids clubs are designed specifically to help kids hinge and rotate their arms and wrists properly without losing balance. This helps them get in to the right position at the top, making it much easier to make a good connection with the ball.
"Kids physically find that extremely difficult to do with traditional, steel-headed, heavy clubs. The club swings the kid rather than the kid swinging and controlling the club.
“Golf needs to be fun for kids. PGA coaches were telling us most kids give up because they find it too difficult to swing the heavy clubs and therefore don’t have fun – our goal is to encourage more kids in to the game and to keep them in the game because they are having fun.”
Golphinforkids clubs are grouped in age and height brackets 3-5 (39-47"), 6-8 (47-53") and 9-11 (53"-58"). Clubs are available individually and sets include a driver, 7 iron, putter and 'swedger' - a super-forgiving wedge - along with a bag and dolphin driver headcover.
The branding has a strong affiliation with dolphins to present a fun, friendly image to children and clubs are also designed in pink and blue colour schemes to make them popular for either boys or girls.
The brand was selected by The R&A as the product of choice for junior coaching at their Kids SwingZone during the Open Championship.
France’s Le Golf National and Ireland’s Confederation of Golf have both chosen to use Golphinforkids to further enhance their kids’ golf initiatives.
