Mizuno Support Young Golfers in Derbyshire

By: Golf Shake | Mon 15 Dec 2014

Leading Golf Club manufacturer MIZUNO have leant a helping hand to the students on the PERFORMANCE GOLF ACADEMY DERBY education and player development programme.

The students all aged 16-19 have benefited from the great support provided by Mizuno through an intense day of club fitting. The process saw each player receive an individual assessment and fitting using some of the latest technology available in the market.

Each players swing was assessed using the Mizuno Shaft Optimizer and Swing DNA  system to establish the correct shaft required to deliver optimum performance. This coupled with Trackman, high edge radar technology which tracks the flight of the golf ball and provides feedback data on club head speed, launch angle, spin rates, smash factor, carry distance & total distance.

The process identified that many of the players would benefit from upgrades and changes to their equipment, both club head (Mizuno) and shaft.

Performance Golf Academy Programme director Nigel Furniss commented: “ We are so grateful to MIZUNO, who are regarded as the international market leader in manufacture of high quality clubs , for finding time to support the students. All the students benefited from the assessments and the knowledge and information that was presented to them on the day. Many will now change their equipment specification in order to improve their performances.

The relationship we have with leading industry equipment manufacturers is all part of the package which we deliver to young golfers on the Performance Golf Academy programme at Derby.”

MIZUNO Area Sales Manager Steve Cookson added” We are really pleased to be able to help out the students on the Performance Golf Academy to learn more about their own equipment and how it can help improve their performance. MIZUNO are always looking for new opportunities to support young players with help and advice to ensure they make the correct decisions when choosing the right equipment to take their games to a higher level”

This support process is another example of how the Performance Golf Academy is at the forefront of player development in its relationship with market leading equipment manufacturers like Mizuno, who have access to cutting edge technological solutions.
