Golf to Help Build Links Between Scotland and the Isle of Man

Isle of Man Golf Tours hopes closer links between the Isle of Man and Scotland could be forged through golf following a high-level political meeting.

The Isle of Man’s most senior government figure, Chief Minister Allan Bell, led a delegation of leading business, sport and cultural representatives to Glasgow to mark the start of a new air link between the Island and Scotland.

Among the delegation, which was met by Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond, was Ged Power of Isle of Man Golf Tours. He was there to explain more about the award-winning dedicated golf tour operator and the golfing opportunities the Island has to offer.

Chief Minister Mr Bell said: ‘Isle of Man Golf Tours has been doing a sterling job growing this visitor market for the Island, and our time in Scotland showed there is further growth potential. Mr Salmond is a very keen golfer and was keen to ensure that, alongside the business, social and cultural links we hope to strengthen, golf plays a major part.

The purpose of the visit was to highlight areas where links between the Isle of Man and Scotland can be strengthened, through business, tourism and culture.
