Jimenez Wins Shot of the Month with 'Better than Unbelievable' PING G20 5-wood

PING Tour staff player Miguel Angel Jimenez has won the European Tour’s Shot of the Month title for his extraordinary G20 5-wood to the treacherous 17th at Club de Golf Valderrama, Sotogrande, Spain during the Andalucía Masters last month.

Jimenez, a PING loyalist, put the G20 fairway woods in his bag after a long stint using the manufacturer’s TiSI Tec product for nearly a decade.

Following the change, the Spaniard commented: “My old 5-wood was unbelievable, but the new G20s are better than unbelievable.”

The 247yd effort over water was simply spectacular, given the clutch scenario and the daunting carry. The shot would set up a birdie, which was enough to clinch second place.

Jimenez’ new G20 5-wood, built for him by golf’s leading custom fitters at PING, is +1/2” long with D3 swing-weight, an Aldila RIP Alpha 70 X shaft and a Lamkin Permawrap 58 Round grip.

The new G20 fairway woods from PING enable the player to get the ball airborne with ease, adding yards with external weighting and a low-deep CG that produces high launch and optimal spin for long, straight results.

-Fairway woods available: 3, 4, 5, and 7-woods
