Were you inspired by the Masters? You should take on this golf challenge
Rory McIlroy wrote another chapter of greatness at the Masters when he became just the fourth man to successfully defend the title at Augusta National.
It was a glorious week of weather at this most iconic of venues, creating images to be shared around the world that would stir the soul of even the most latent of golfers.
There's nothing quite like the first major of the year to light the fire of golfing inspiration. Given that it coincides with the early weeks of spring, the clocks springing forward, and the rapidly growing hours of daylight, it's the perfect recipe that will encourage you to dust off the clubs and make your way to the golf course.
We hope that you have a successful season ahead, one that features many rounds and months of good scoring, but if you are searching for something extra to reignite your passion for the game, we have a challenge for you to undertake.

You may have heard about The Big Golf Race - especially if you have been visiting the Golfshake website and reading our articles in recent weeks - which has become a standout charity fundraising event in the UK.
Supporting the invaluable work of Prostate Cancer UK, The Big Golf Race was first launched in 2020 and has subsequently seen more than 10,000 golfers raise over £6 million that has been used to help the mission to improve the way that prostate cancer (the most common form of the disease in the UK) is both diagnosed and treated in this country.
Despite the fact that memories of Rory at Augusta are still fresh in the mind, the peak weeks of daylight hours aren't far away, offering the perfect window for you to complete a marathon challenge from dawn till dusk.
When signing up to participate in The Big Golf Race, you have three options to choose from, ranging from the achievable (completing 36 holes in a day) to an undertaking that will test even the most robust of golfers of playing 72 holes or even 100 or more.
Golfers who sign up will receive a fundraising pack that consists of Titleist golf balls, tees, pencils, and a guide that will provide helpful advice on how to raise the most money and make your own race incredibly successful.
Why You Should Participate in The Big Golf Race in 2026

Supporting a great cause, pushing your golfing stamina to the limit and hopefully sharing that experience with friends is more than enough of an incentive, but if you require a touch more motivation to take part, organisers have revealed some extra benefits that should intrigue you.
The racer who raises the most money for Prostate Cancer UK will be rewarded with a spectacular package worth £3,000 from Titleist. But there are more accessible prizes too, as you only have to raise £250 to be entered into a draw for the chance to win a holiday to the magical Aphrodite Hills Golf Resort in Cyprus.
Other bonuses are available for those who pass the milestones of £500, £800, £1,000 and £1,200, meaning that there is added reason to generate as much support as possible for your own challenge.
The golf season is here - but we reckon that taking part in The Big Golf Race could be the opportunity to grasp that makes it a truly memorable one.
You don't have long to prepare, so if you wish to make a difference this year, now is the time to sign up.
