Points Based Golf Membership Continues to See Growth

By: Golfshake Editor | Fri 19 Jan 2024

Golfers are increasingly searching for alternatives to the traditional club membership model, with the QHotels Group's Fairway Membership being among the most prominent, and it has continued to grow alongside the patterns outlined by the latest Sporting Insights Report for Q3 2023.

Key findings from the report indicate:

  • A 5% increase in golf rounds played nationally compared to Q3 2022, with an average of 3,900 rounds played per course.
  • Notable regional differences: Scotland saw a remarkable 13% increase, and the South experienced a 9% rise, while the North witnessed a 5% decrease.
  • Month-wise, Scotland and the South demonstrated consistent increases throughout the quarter. July and August saw decreases in the North, while the Midlands remained stable.

The Fairway Membership's point-based system, allowing access to seven diverse courses, aligns with these trends, catering to golfers' desire for variety and flexibility. Added benefits like discounts and PGA professional lessons enhance the appeal, resonating with the contemporary golfer's lifestyle.

The membership also includes added perks like discounts on food, drinks, hotel stays, and golf shop purchases, and even extends to lessons with PGA professionals.
