18 Miguel Angel Jimenez Facts & Stats

By: Golfshake Editor | Fri 31 Jul 2020

Widely recognised for his eccentric stretching routine, ponytail, and rich appreciation for the refined things in life, Miguel Angel Jimenez also happens to be a remarkably proficient golfer who has enjoyed incredible longevity over several decades. When he teed off in the Hero Open at Forest of Arden, the colourful Spaniard reached a historic milestone, surpassing Ryder Cup legend Sam Torrance with the most appearances on the European Tour.

Marking his 707th start on the circuit by shooting a bogey-free 64 on the Arden Course, the 56-year-old Jimenez took the acclaim of his fellow players, many of whom hadn't been born when he first emerged during the 1980s. Despite having success throughout the 90s, the man from Malaga had been something of a late developer with regards to victories, achieving his best form after turning 40, now plying his trade on the PGA Tour Champions in America, but nonetheless showcasing his competitiveness on the regular tour in Europe.

Celebrating the hugely impressive and enduring career of Jimenez, we have picked out 18 statistics that serve as a timely reminder of just how good he has been for a very long time, like a fine wine. You have to drink to that.
