Rory McIlroy's Career By Numbers

By: Golfshake Editor | Wed 13 Feb 2019

Four-time major champion Rory McIlroy has been the closest of the modern generation in golf to become a transcendent star. Prodigiously skilled and always candid with the press, the Northern Irishman has been a hugely compelling figure since he turned professional in 2007. Now approaching his 30th birthday, the former world number one is looking to inspire a second wind and recapture the great success of before.

Everyone has their thoughts and theories on Rory - no player apart from Tiger Woods is more scrutinised - with Golfshake's Derek Clements assessing the past decade for McIlroy and seeing what the statistics could point to his strengths and weaknesses as he looks to add to that major tally in 2019, potentially completing the career Grand Slam at the Masters. We delved even further into the numbers to review Rory's key statistics on the PGA Tour since his first season in 2009, to see what has changed, where he stands, and how that has correlated with victories on the circuit.

Don't forget, you can record your own stats and analyse your game with the Golfshake Score Tracker. Maybe even compare your own numbers with that of Rory McIlroy, the most successful golfer of his era to date.
