G/FORE Signs Young Belgian Talent
23-year-old Belgian golfer Thomas Detry has joined the ever increasing stable of the leading US golf fashion brand G/FORE. This latest signing has been tipped for a promising future on the European Tour and is chasing his full card this season via the Challenge Tour.
The fresh-faced 23-year-old has been tipped for a big future on the European Tour and is chasing his full card this season via the Challenge Tour.
Brussels-born Detry is running into form after an impressive recent display in the Najeti Open at Saint-Omer, in France, where he finished tied for second. And he will be hoping to continue his recent efforts.
Detry said: “G/FORE fits my style perfectly and the apparel is awesome both on and off the course. They have the most comfortable golf shoes I’ve ever worn so I’m excited to put them into play.
“I’m so happy to be part of the G/FORE family.”
In wearing the colourful and innovative G/FORE brand, Detry follows in some big footsteps. Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson wears both G/FORE shoes and gloves, and recently caused a stir at the US open when he wore the brand’s new Crusader high-top shoe.
And Bubba’s namesake, the ever-popular veteran and eight-time Major winner, Tom, famously waved goodbye to the Open Championship from St Andrews’ legendary Swilcan Bridge while wearing a G/FORE glove.
The G/FORE brand was created by fashion-industry pioneer Mossimo Giannulli – founder of the billion-dollar clothing company Mossimo Inc – in 2011 after he became frustrated in his search for colourful and functional golf gloves.
Giannulli added: “Thomas Detry embodies the youthful spirit of G/FORE and his European roots are perfectly suited with our brand aesthetic. He also appreciates G/FORE’s disruptive luxury – further proof that this isn’t your father’s golf brand.”
The G/FORE autumn/winter 2016 collection launches soon and features premium apparel made from custom fabrics carefully crafted by the brand’s design team to create a classic aesthetic, while allowing for athletic movement.
Club golfers can lay their hands on the G/FORE collection at selected pro shops up and down the country, while the products are also available at a choice of premium online retailers.
