Terrible greens which had been spiked heavily and covered in sand! Rouined my day which had already cost a fortune!

Donald Steele did the best he could with several fields, rather a boring course.

We played at tea time on a Monday evening in July and there was no-one on the course. The place has real potential, but it has no heart or soul. The course is flat and uninspiring and uses the rough to keep it tight, in the absence of any natural features. There is water on the course, but, in my opinion, it has not been used effectively, for example, there is a big lake right in the centre of the course and it is not brought into play once, which is a real shame.

And as for the clubhouse. no pro shop to speak of and whilst it has alll the mod cons it does not seem to cater for the golfer.

Over all, not made with the golfer in mind.

Still quite a "young course" but is very spacious and a mix of different challenges.

A bit of an open field start quickly becomes some interesting holes from the 4th onwards. Keep the driver in the bag for most of the holes.

Played the course with piped greens, obviously making the play on green a lottery. However that is how it is this time of year. The course was alright otherwise.

a very good course that is well maintained with superb greens and not very busy. quite open so forgiving in most places, although good use of Out of Bounds and water on some holes. You have to be accurate because the rough is long and wispy, but a great inland course with a links feel in places.
Recommend you play it if you get a chance.
Clubhouse is high quality but more hotel than golf club.
food bar very sparce mid-week.

If you like long golf courses with good greens, you will enjoy this course. The wind can blow here as well and it is a very enjoyable round of golf. They do however seem to allow all sorts of ability on the course. We saw people at the range who were struglling to get the ball in the air. We saw them later on the course playing as a 6 ball! Glad we were in front of them.

Beautiful setting in Stapelford Park

Set in a beautiful country estate, Stapelford Park is a challenging course with well protected greens, ponds, streams and ditches strategically placed. Accuracy off the tee is paramount as the rough can be quite punishing. Set in large grounds the course undulates and is open to wind from most tees. There are long distances between some tees which can slow play. The manor house accommodation is luxurious with fine dining a speciality.

Great Course

Lovely course, played here a few times now and it's always been in good condition. Low scoring requires long accurate tee shots for the most, and although the rough is quite forgiving, there are a number of 400 yard plus par 4's which heavily favour those who hit 250+ off the tee to have a chance of a decent score (not me). I carded 3 over my handicap, so wasn't all bad and the greens can be a challenge if you put the ball on the wrong part of the green. Overall, nice course, challenging and in great condition
