a great and challenging municipal coarse fantastic greens and a very demanding back 9 with 13 a very long par 4 which leaves you climbing a hill over the last 120 yards then a hard 14th par 3 and 15th par 3 and finishing off with a long par 4 which falls dramatically to the right

The best municipal golf course in the area by far. Not the most challenging front 9, the Road hole, Gulley and 18th on the back 9 are excellent holes.

just took the game up again though was never serious so this was my 5th round and knew the layout from my teenage years but when i played the 13th i came off with a 6 and was quite pleased as the hole plays like a par 5 great course for council run and going tomorrow to rectify the horror finish 16th 17th 18th especially 18 which has a severe left to right slope where i boomed a drive down to the ideal spot and took 9 more to get in the hole

this is a course well worth a visit and yes it is hilly from 13 14 15 but I feel it adds to the course as a challenge I played a week ago and it was in beautiful condition greens were in perfect nick

The course was in good condition when I played in June 2010. Greens were in better condition than the municipal courses in Troon, Ayr and Kilmarnock. For such a short course it is extremely challenging with some par 3 holes which can really catch you out. Take your hiking boots as it is rather hilly!!

Crazy Golf!

Played Dalmuir a few times over the years, after covid lockdown one of the few courses open to visitors so I've returned twice in the past week and it is enjoyable but a test of fitness as much as your golf.

1st couple of holes short and possibly drivable par 4s although the second is like hitting a free kick over a wall to a blind green

3rd hole is definitely the toughest on front 9- classed as par 5 off white tees but really should be par 5 off yellows as well, it would take a very long and accurate drive to find the angle round the dog leg to attempt taking on green in 2 shots.

All relatively straight forward holes then up to the 11th which is a blind par 3 that probably needs a faded tee shot round some tall trees to hit the green.

12th is great fun, a wedge basically off the edge of a cliff, over a burn to a green surround by bunkers. Would happily spend an hour hitting shots there if I could.

13th however is a brutal haul uphill, long and straight and again really should be a par 5.

14th is another fun par 3 hitting it 200 yards across a gully, a good tee shot here is highly recommended to avoid dragging your clubs back up the other side of the gully. The 15th is another tough par 3 hitting it back up the gully to a green on the plateau at the top. Pretty daunting tee shot but is relatively straight forward as long as you dont come up short.

16th is a straight forward par 4 from an elevated tee to a wide fairway. A good drive from here looks great.

17th another tough slog before a difficult closing hole.

The 18th fairway runs severely downhill from left to right before and almost right angle turn to the left in a dog leg back up the hill. A tee shot that cuts the corner over the trees is probably the right shot but even with a good shot theres no guarantee you will ever see that ball again.
