What the club says: With spectacular views of the River Clyde and the Kilpatrick Hills beyond, the new 18-hole Earl of Mar championship course at Mar Hall offers a five star golf experience close to Glasgow. It was designed by respected golf course architect, Dave Thomas, who is best known for his work at The Belfry in England, plus San Roque and La Manga in Spain.

Already, the Earl of Mar gives the impression of a well-established course shaped around 250 year old sweet chestnut and beech trees, with strategically placed bunkers providing a challenge throughout your round.

Most Helpful Review

Played today, course and layout are great, but experience was totally ruined by the greens being tined and sanded, seriously mid July and the greens are unplayable doesn't say much for the greenkeepers. Also when booking no one told us this was happening to the greens or would have played at another date, just poor all round but am I surprised? NO. - Jul 19 2016

Alex H rated 4 out of 5 - Jul 9 2017

Great course lay out with some amazing scenery, disappointed in the speed of the greens as they were vey slow and inconsistent. Facilities not great, couldn't get a coffee and a bacon roll before golf as none of the bars were open.
