What the club says: Sitting on 350 acres of traditional English country side in the heart of Shropshire, The Astbury (formerly known as Astbury Hall) has a distinctive story behind its development as the brain child of K.K. Downing, lead guitarist of Grammy award-winning heavy metal band, Judas Priest. The 18 hole golf course opened to the public on September 15 2010, completing K.K. Downing’s first course design. In December 2013 Darren Clarke became the Tour Professional for the Astbury where he represent the company all over the world. The course was recognised for outstanding Golf Architecture in the 2014 UK Property awards - showing the impressive vision of K.K Downing.
The course Combining natural features, tactically placed bunkers and beautifully manicured playing surfaces subtly contoured to USGA standards, the course measures over 6500 yards and promises to be a test to golfers of all abilities.

WOW!!!!
Top notch course!! From the moment we arrived we were shown to the 1st tee, the pace of play was excellent, extremely well manicured and greens to test the best! If you go slightly array the rough isn't too bad to get out of so that is a massive plus for a high handicapper. the course layout is excellent with buggy paths guiding you to the next tee so your never really asking the question where do i go next! overall i have to say it is the best golf i have played on ever!!! the only slight downside if there is one, and I'm being picky here is that there are no ball cleaners around the course. I will be back again and soon, and again and again and again.............

You Gotta Play This.
This is one amazing golf course. Not only is it a fantastic course to play it is also very scenic as you play amongst the Deer who are grazing just feet away. Some very challenging golf holes one of which I have to say is the Par 3 18th. too may positive points to put up here, but if you love golf then this has to be one to put on the Bucket List.

Very nice course
Second visit to The Astbury (first this year) and still very impressed. Stunning setting and welcoming course. Slight delay in getting away due to a Seniors Day that had been split starts on front and back 9, speed of play was ok and this improved as the day went on. The whole course was still well manicured although I don't recall any striping of the fairways like last year (I may have just not been paying attention). Long walk but not too hilly, other than the feskew and bunkers there's not too much trouble about so decent scores are possible. I remain very impressed, the last hole is spectacular, although it was disappointing that the bar had closed by 5:45pm so the beer thirst went unquenched!
